“What’s on your shelf?” is one of the most common questions we get asked by technicians and producers. But at JLL we take a different approach to sourcing kit and technical equipment that is beneficial for our clients and for the planet.

Unlike other lighting and technical production suppliers, we run a dual approach to sourcing kit for your upcoming show or event.

​

Creative flexibility has been at the core of the JLL ethos since the company’s inception 12 years ago. It’s why we don’t just rely on the stock on our warehouse shelves.

​

Instead, we have brokered partnerships with all of the major lighting and AV manufacturers allowing us to source the very latest and greatest technology directly from source – essentially a dry hire cost with a full service delivery.

As an industry, we’re guilty of having kit that sits idle for too long. It’s time to change our industry model to prevent dead stock gathering dust on shelves.

We know that our clients want to know what kit is on our shelves right here in the warehouse. Whilst we were on the verge of investing a significant amount into new kit, we were reluctant to do so knowing its impact on decommissioning some of our older stock.

​

As an industry, we’re guilty of having kit that sits idle for too long. It’s time to change our industry model to prevent dead stock gathering dust on shelves.

We know our clients will still want the knowledge that we have “access” to the kit on the shelves which is why brokering these partnerships and building an API is vital to our collaboration’s success.

As a passionate lighting technician, I’m always thinking first about how to break new ground in the lighting world and pushing the game forward. This is also how I operate the business. Success to me will be when clients no longer ask us what’s in the warehouse but instead – what’s in the marketplace that can help us achieve our goal.
